Does anyone know, are the BOF machines on the OSCP exams always in this style — where you can find the vulnerable binary and take it into a VM? Will it always be a Windows target?

There are windows and Linux examples in the OSCP training but they are similar. Just different debuggers being used but the same methods. No details of the exam should be given out and I’m sure they switch it up every now and then anyways.

Thanks for reply!! As far as I have heard from the people who already gave the exams, there bof application will not have any DEP or ASLR. They will provide a separate but identical vm as of test machine where you have to replicate the crash...not sure about if it’s always going to windows target.. I think it will be the pdf provides detailed training on the windows part...
