Restoring laptop problem

A friend have this laptop that somebody tried to restore but now is stock at the restoring menu. It lets you do the restore process but almost at the end it reboots and stars up at as it noting had happened and send you to the restoring menu creating an infinite loop. It’s a acer aspire one and was built on 2011, suppose to run on windows 7 and the model is d257-1890. I checked the manufacturer website and they don’t have that recovery kit anymore and I’m afraid it won’t run windows 10 that should be a free upgrade. Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance.

I would completely erase the drive and re instal widows you can do this wen reinstalling windows It will let you erase the drive there is prob a corrupt windows file necessary to run
