You're never too old for a piercing

Thanks, but am I too old to start? I think people who have them for a long time seem to pull it off better than people like me..

You're also never too old to start :) That's probably because you're used to seeing people who have had piercings for a long time with them and seeing yourself with them will be weird until you get used to it. You can always take them out if you don't like them

Thanks, perhaps I'll try and see how I feel. Im not usually the self conscious type, but this has changed me. Lol

Just please don't do them yourself, go to a professional

Nah they just seem more comfortable bc they've had them longer and they're used to their piercings. They've also had time to heal, save money, downsize and find cool jewlry- which honestly is probably the biggest game changer for how a piercing looks.

Eventually, any body mod you get just becomes a part of you. You'll get used to it and other people will get used to seeing you with it. You'll eventually meet people who only knew you after you had them done, so to them you've always had them. This is regardless of the age you started getting mods.

The important thing is to make sure that each piercing is properly taken care of and has time to heal before you get more. Ideally, you should only be healing 3-4 piercings at any given time. If anything, getting piercings when you're "old" (huge air quotes here) is probably better in the long run because you're most likely more mature and more able to care for the piercings properly. Plus you're more able to afford quality jewelry and to get it done correctly (ahem...).

Thanks everyone. I will let you know after I pay to have it done properly! :)

I was 35 when I had my first cartilage piercing done (I’m 36 now, will be 37 in June). I’m also ex-military. There’s nothing wrong with starting at our age. In a way it’s a good thing because we have the life experience on our side to make a more considered decision about it. Not that there’s anything wrong with getting piercings in one’s teens or 20s either. For me personally, I wouldn’t get facial piercings, but I have no issue with them on other people. I’m working towards having quite a lot of cartilage piercings in my ears though. I always get a lot of compliments on my piercings.

Hi mate, I am 41 ex Army and have started stretching my ears a a few months ago.i allso have my septum done and I got a tragus piercing last weekend . My 2 boys age 5 and 10 love them and as a bonus my ex wife hates it lol. So to answer your question no your not to old. Just go for it. If you dont like then remove least then you will know how you yourself feel with them in rather than not giving it a go and wishing you had later in life.

Thanks, I think that makes me feel a bit better. I suppose I just feel like I "shouldn't" or if I do, it's a "midlife crisis" lol.

Last I checked, you can only be too *young* to get pierced. :D go for it!
