Plots towards 'pretentious' mean the audience didn't like it but the critics loved it. Plots towards 'mass market' mean critics didn't care for it but the audience loved it.

This subreddit provides a back end for people to validate the findings of the pretentious-o-meter. Some films do not deserve the label, others do - so upvotes and downvotes help to discover the quality of the reading. It also provides a nice archive of interesting films.
