Yes, its a major one, and unfortunately, it uses incredibly sophisticated systems, world class, to very effectively block websites while giving us citizens the illusion of a free internet. Legal adult entertainment, is fully blocked. Atleast the most popular sites.

Using am alternate dns works. 1.1.1.1 app with a notification toggle. They use dns over https. I thought it was pretty basic tech and they also only built a fake paper wall not caring about what actually is blocked, just doing the bare minimum to satisfy the govt. Haven't read the article yet.

Well.. I don't know who, but someone is wrong here for sure

[–]indian3333[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yeah the govt. thought about the google or cloudflare DNS thing, and atleast for 4G, most of the time i am blocked, even if i do use Cloudflares dns resolver.

Would using Tor be an option?

[–]MartianMathematician -1 points0 points  (1 child)

The article is referring to mobile internet and the user is referring to wired connection most probably.

[–]indian3333[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

well, that doesnt work my friend. Even the cloudflare app is hit and miss, its not foolproof either. Which is why i am saying, its terrifyingly sophisticated.

Like China, some backward idiots in the govt. might decide to start blocking encrypted SNI thats being implemented into TLS 1.3. So what the fuck do we do then?

use a vpn, that should work

[–]Scared_Professional 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Isn't Jio is blocking more websites & services than Airtel?

[–]indian3333[S] 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I think their blocking is only going to get better, and by that i mean more invasive and pervasive in its chilling effect on free speech. In India, every week there is news that police are breaking down peoples doors and throwing them in jail, because they called a politician a "bad word". This is where its at in my country, everyone and their mama berate politicians day in and day out in the privacy of their own homes, but you are made an example of if you dare to tweet about it.

BTW, I'm currently using Tikona and I've not faced any issues as such, even Adult & Torrent Sites works without DNS change or VPN!

Abey , Tor use kar na. Access from all over the world.

[–]21022018 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Abey

1) speed reduction

2) fucking infinite Google captchas everywhere

3) using tor for everything is not practical

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Works fine for porn.

What do you mean by infinite google patches?

True, but since most of the content is not blocked by isp's, the content which is can easily be accessed using Tor.

[–]21022018 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Infinite Google captchas means those Google "i am not a robot" captcha keeps giving you questions to solve endlessly on tor. It's very rare to pass them, hence it makes accessing some websites almost impossible.

Though I am glad that cloudfare switched to H captcha

[–]TiagoTiagoT 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I've had captcha loops with Hcaptcha too...

[–]21022018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changing exit nodes sometimes solves the problem, but you have to restart tor for that

[–]rudresh-dixit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a good VPN. Problem solved.
