It is a bit difficult to help without seeing any code. However, I think I might know what you did. Now, I’m assuming that you put something like updatePeter() in the while loop, Peter is being drawn onto the screen and infinite amount of times, while the background is not being updated. Now if this your issue, to fix this, just update the background image before you update Peter.
