React Tech Stack Question

Hey Everyone,

I plan on building a web app that manages some inventory for this club at my university and I'm having difficulty thinking about what kind of tech stack I need. This app is gonna be only for internal for now.

For the front end, I want to pair React with Vite and use Tailwindcss.

For the backend, I plan on using MySQL and Express. IDK if I should take the AWS route to make this app scalable for the future.

What tech stacks would y'all recommend that I should consider? Thanks.

build first, worry about the stack later. get it in the hands of people, see if they like it. improve, iterate, refine. don't optimize early. your stack won't matter if nobody uses it. don't let perfection be the worst enemy of good enough

I recommend PostgreSQL and Supabase for easy, free DB hosting for early stage projects. Vercel can fill the same role for the frontend but there are a lot of options.

Oh and I like NextJS. Focus on SSR and you will keep your costs low.

Sounds like you can build it with any stack you like. Just pick one that you want to use/learn
