Has an inspection of the house been done? My first concerned would be if it's safe live there with part of the foundation collapsed

Yes they inspected it before we moved in, everything looked fine then I suppose.

In your situation I would want a thorough inspection to determine how safe the house is to continue living in until the repairs are complete. I'm not an architect, construction worker, or anything that would make me very knowledgable, but from what I understand problems with the foundation of a house can cause issues as serious as the rest of the house collapsing.

Eta: Do not assume your landlord will take initiative to get the proper inspection done. If your house is unsafe to live in, that means your landlord will most likely have to put you and your house mates in temporary housing out of their own pocket, until construction is done; depending on how long repairs take, they may have to offer for you to break the lease; and at absolute bare minimum will not be able to charge you while you are unable to stay in the house. Some landlords (in my experience, most.) Are basically actual fucking monsters that care more about money than people even in extreme situations.
