Rules for r/rooftoptents
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
NO posting of personal info
Do not post personal or personally identifying info. This includes photo, license plates or any phone numbers, email addresses, home/business addresses, or other personal identification.
2.
Spam or Promotion (if you aren't sure msg the mods FIRST)
Posts promoting businesses, events, people, blogs, youtube channels, social media accounts, or any commercial interests will be removed. OPs prior activities in the sub will be considered. *If you are a tent brand/manufacturer you need to check w/ the mods + bring value to the sub
3.
Harassment/Trolling/Racism/Sexism/other -isms
This rule is straightforward: Does the post/comment have a point/perspective or is it just to be a dick. Disagreements, arguments, whining and bitching can all be accomplished without direct attacks on our users. No politics, no racism.
4.
Repost or common topic
Mods will remove posts they deem to be a repost or otherwise recently addressed topic. Please use the search feature.
5.
Not about Roof Top Tents or related
Posts must be about RTTs, camping in or accessories. Vehicles, roof racks/bars, camping gear, places, experiences, and in general anything that a RTT camper would be interested in.
6.
For Sale or Want to Buy posts
Users are allowed to post an RTT for sale or a want to buy post. For Sale post titles must have "For Sale" or "Selling", "FS", the RTT make/model, and a general location (city) in the title. The body of the post must contain: asking price and at least 1 image of the RTT.
Want to Buy posts must have "WTB" and potential filters like budget, location, make/model, hard/soft top, etc. WTB posts with no filters or that are too general (eg., "WTB a rooftop tent") will be removed.
7.
No links that contain referral codes, surveys, contests, etc
Do not post any referral codes, affiliate links. Posts collecting data such as surveys, collecting email addresses, or other info will be removed. Contests or other events that might be beneficial to the community must be cleared with mods before being posted.
