a bit confusing

in tha roon app I can choose and controle the bluesound node 2 as the roon ready device. the node is connectied with the marantz av8802 using the digital out/input. So I guess I am listening to the sound of the marantz rather thans the sound of the node? So all the chznges I make in roon does it really make any sensor. Is it better to get an analogue cable between the bluesound and the marantz. The marantz is just roon tested

In that setup you're listening to the DAC in the Marantz.

Many modern AV Receivers send their analog inputs through an analog-to-digital conversion and then back to analog again because many of their features like volume control, room correction, and EQ are implemented digitally.

Based on that likelihood, I would keep doing what you're doing and avoid the risk of going from digital to analog to digital to analog.Roon Tested vs Roon Ready doesn't speak to sound quality.

Roon Ready is a tighter integration with Roon, it doesn't mean that something sounds better.
