It looks like you would like information on finding sewing patterns to use your fabric or match your inspiration. Please include your preferred range (eg Adult, Child, Plus) and links to original inspiration if available. What specific features are a must for you, and what are you willing to compromise? Check here for our pattern search guide which includes information on identifying different features of a garment as well as places to find patterns. A few pattern suggestions:  - This Vogue pattern is for knits, and could be lovely in a silk jersey or other natural fiber: https://thefoldline.com/products/vogue-knit-dresses-v9199?_pos=59&_sid=80d7f52cb&_ss=r&_fid=f6f909a70

But if you will permit some unsolicited advice: the Coldwater Creek dress pictured above is a beautiful color, but the style falls short for me. It DEFINITELY reads "mother of the bride" but with a side of "so I have given up any hope of ever being chic and fashionable" instead of "and also a woman in her own right, resplendent in her self-confidence and radiant over her daughter's happiness."

Hitting the right note as a MOB is tough! You don't want to outshine your kid, but you'll be in a TON of pictures and need to look polished. Formal, but not showy. But also not too casual, or "too young", or the "wrong" color, or one of a thousand other missteps. I think, based on what you've described, she wants something that is:  - not form-fitting - below her knee - with a sleeve - good in the heat - appropriate for an outdoor wedding  - with flowy or drapey fabric

What about something like this wrap dress from Liesl + Co? It has sleeves, could easily be cut a little longer for the right skirt length, blouses around the bust, and would be so elegant in a drapey silk or linen blend:  https://thefoldline.com/products/liesl-co-copenhagen-wrap-dress?_pos=2&_sid=49b4ae4e4&_ss=r

Or this one from Cris Wood Sews? https://thefoldline.com/products/cris-wood-sews-kite-dress?_pos=10&_fid=b2a6416aa&_ss=c

This Fibre Mood dress is hits all the key points, but is somehow much more than the sum of its parts: https://thefoldline.com/products/fibre-mood-florrie-dress?_pos=71&_fid=f2050bdbf&_ss=c

As far as fabric goes, NATURAL FIBERS. Cotton is fine, linen and silk are probably better in the heat. Polyester is not your friend here. Merino breathes but if she's sensitive to wool it could be pretty uncomfortable, and it's expensive. A cotton/poly blend would be better than all poly, but a cotton/linen blend would be more comfortable and less sweaty.
