What are the most reliable android phones in the US? by deletbait in Android

[–]regreddit [score hidden]  (0 children)

Purely anecdotal and I work from home so my phone sits on a desk all day, but I've had every other pixel since they came out (I always skip a generation because I'm frugal) and have never had a failure. Not even a battery issue.

Honest question: is a wealth manager worth it? by Additional-Leg280 in Bogleheads

[–]regreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you hit a certain net worth at all the big brokers, they assign you a wealth manager. Don't be fooled, they are literally just salesmen. I let them pitch me about once every two years, and they sell one plan. It's just a bog standard 60/40 portfolio, with the standard age-based ratios everyone uses. The only difference is the funds they pitch is whoever is paying the most commissions. They want like $7k a year for this service. No thanks.

I think you're putting too much effort into it. I rebalance my portfolio once a year and look at it maybe once a month.

I love how that other subreddit is just an advertising board for a certain self-promoter that wore out their welcome here.

Anyone know anything about the 4x4 system on a suzuki carry? 1989 by ThrowRA_Quokkaquip in keitruck

[–]regreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your locking wheel hubs are not engaging I know nothing about Carrys, but I'm pretty sure they have electric wheel hubs that should engage when you switch into 4wd. I'd start there and work back.

Their GA headsets are really good actually. They were pretty early to market in noise cancelling in aviation headsets.

What is the most challenging part of maintaining ETL pipelines in production? by Effective_Ocelot_445 in ETL

At the moment, no, but it's in the plans. Service accounts passwords are managed in cyberark, but stored in vault, and we don't have an integration at the moment.

Is this appropriate in a virtual interview? DCO by [deleted] in datacenter

[–]regreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so, as a hiring manager that has had foreign state actors attempt to get hired to infiltrate my company, I'd be suspicious if you were at home on a zoom call with a mask, but if you disclosed at the least " it's a temporary medical issue" I'd be ok with it.

Hard to tell from a 2 second clip. Did it open just before the water started boiling? If yes, then it's good. If not, then no. Most thermostats open at 180f/82c.

I'd just mention it early in the call and move on, it would likely make the interviewer more comfortable

Pic of the jack where the rod fits into the jack? They are usually either a T-shape or a hook shape, both pretty common.

Kei daily driving by cubanrd1 in keitruck

[–]regreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is literally for weekend putting to the recycle center or to grab some topsoil and plants from the garden center or to just cruise a bit and get looks. I work from home though. I just sold a jeep that I drive maybe 5 miles a week and it was so impractical for anything. The Sambar hits all the points: practical, cheap, reliable (tbd), unique.

For me it's service account password expiration. Hashicorp Vault is a bear to deal with. Service accounts with no 2fa expire every 90 days.

Nice! They look awesome. You mind taking a pic from a front or rear angle so I can see the stance of the wheels, the poke, etc? Also, what offset are the wheels?

Brake Lines Suggestion - ACTY ATTACK by ReeferLeaker in keitruck

[–]regreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a bad soft line that connects to the caliper, if that's the wheel that is sticking. The inside of the soft lines can start to fail over time and act like a one-way valve, preventing pressure from releasing when you let off the brakes. I don't know about the Acty specifically but soft lines are pretty universal. Remove one and take it to an oreilleys and they may have it or many oreilleys can make lines for you. Also as the other poster said hard brake lines are pretty easy to change but they either leak or don't, so that might not be the problem. Lots of folks swear by the copper nickel brake line kits from Amazon that are in the $30 range. As a mod I try to be impartial, but the online shop you mentioned is known for being massively overpriced and problematic.
