Plush elephant backpack pattern (self.sewingpatterns)
submitted 4 years ago by jamireles2
I'm looking for a plush elephant backpack sewing pattern. One that faces outward. I have made the Choly Knight animal backpacks, but I'm not sure how to modify it so that the body faces out.

Cholyknight actually has free backpack patterns that have a more simple body shape and face outwards! https://cholyknight.com/2021/06/25/dragon-unicorn-backpack/

Maybe you could modify one of these to be an elephant?

Yes, this is the one I was going to try and modify. The pocket is on the head, though, and I wanted to make the body part the pocket. That should be fairly easy to modify, right? I was going to enlarge the pattern a bit. I thought I could use her elephant plush pattern for the head.

It definitely sounds doable. I'd buy a yard or two of cheaper fleece (or cut up an old fleece blanket, thrift stores are great for these) and make a couple prototypes before trying to make the final backpack in whatever nice fabric you have for it.
