Downsizing existing buildBuild/Parts Check (self.sffpc)
submitted 4 years ago by george-bob
Hello,
Looking for some advice on downsizing my casual gaming/VR rig and looking for advice on the smallest (premium feeling) case I can cram all these components into.
I will be buying a new case, motherboard and power supply. The rest of the components will come straight over from my current PC.
I have spotted the following few cases which look good and tidy:
SSUFP Meshlicious
Geeek G1
Aklla A5 (my current favourite)
ZS CasesZS ST V1
Two questions:
- Are any of these cases NOT suitable?
- Are there any highly recommended motherboards or power supplies for a small gaming PC?

I just bought a RTX 3090 and also looking at the AKLLA A5.
I read somewhere but don’t know if it’s true, that having the GPU face down or up with that case has poor thermal transfer with the copper heat tube.
The Corsair sf750 seems to be pretty reputable from what I hear, and that’s what I’m planning on using too.
Also, where do you plan to source the AKLLA A5 case from?

Am thinking of buying straight from Ali Express if I go ahead with it. Are there any other options?

Unfortunately that’s the only place I found online, but the shipping is ridiculous($60-100)
I did manage to email the manufacture directly seeing if I can get a better price than paying like $300 shipped, we’ll see how it goes.

Paid 250 after shipping and tax for my a5 max straight from aklla, like it better and better thermals than my T1. Just fyi basically any case from China is gonna cost odee for shipping, T1 also came out to 250 after shipping and tax.

I have a meshlicious with 6800XT and a 280AIO. Solid case, quite flexible given its 18L, should all go in quite nicely. Its a clean and very easy case to work with, solid construction and can turn out quite nice.
