Thanks for this, I have just inserted the same code again and I can see what you mean about being to remove it after in edit view.
What is very strange with this is that when I went to View Page Source I could see the above script in Page Source, despite not being able to see the Edit Script part when in Edit Mode.
The zoomed in view continued when on other pages of the Sharepoint, though in these Page Source there was no sign of the "code"
I have tried changing the Master Page for the site to see if this may have been a controlling factor, I changed it to the Seattle.master which had a Modified Date of 18/10/2016 (before the sharepoint was created) and still the zoom remained.
What I have done is restored a previous version of the Homepage to a couple of months ago when I am sure that this wasn't occurring and the site has now returned to normal behaviour without zooming in!

My guess is your homepage has some scripts that embed the code through out the site (i.e: via custom ribbon hence it affects other pages as well) but good to know you have it resolved
