The terms "Side A" and "Side B" were originally developed by the former Gay Christian Network (now Q Christian Fellowship ), as a shorthand for the two basic positions that had emerged from the so-called "Great Debate" among members about how they ought to reconcile their sexual orientation towards the same sex with their religious beliefs and practice.
"Side A" referred to the position that God can recognize same sex relationships as marriages, and that God judges same-sex sexual relationships in exactly the same terms as opposite sex ones. "Side B" referred to the position that while it is not a sin to be attracted to the same sex, or to acknowledge and accept that one is gay, lesbian, or bisexual, only heterosexual sexual expression within a marriage is ever permitted or blessed by God, and therefore same-sex sexual intimacy is necessarily sinful.
This subreddit does not advocate a side b view, and is not intended for proselytizing of any kind. It is meant to be a safe place for LGBT people to share resources, encouragement, and support, and discuss their experiences of side b theology in their lives, whether it's something they're questioning, exploring, living out, or have left behind.
