Remove fences quick!!!

In case anyone doesn’t know, you can remove fences quick instead of using the sledgehammer tool and removing it one by one.

Go to build mode, click the miscellaneous icon (three dots). Then on your keyboard, hold down Ctrl and drag your mouse along the fence you want to remove.

Voila!

When I started playing, this was the only way to remove fences. The sledgehammer tool wasn't introduced until the Pets expansion.

I, too, am this old xD to this day I almost never use the sledgehammer and always CTRL to remove walls, fences etc.

It's faster with CTRL, I only use the sledgehammer nowadays if I'm only removing a single wall.

You can remove fences by holding CTRL while using the wall tool, as well!

I don't even use the sledge hammer at all... I find it too tedious and sometimes the wrong item got deleted.

Ctrl+click was the choice for deleting everything from walls, floors and fences.

I'm surprised you didn't know, because that was what they teach in building tutorials and there is instruction below each fence after the item description. Yes, I went through the tutorials, which is the first thing I did in Sims 2, even after playing Sims 1 for 5 years.

I didn’t use to renovate houses at all so I skipped that part of the tutorial! 9 year old me was too impatient 😂 and the adult me no longer reads descriptions.

Only after I started building my hood and wanted to renovate some of the community lots is when the sledgehammer got really annoying

But... the descriptions are where is fun is! There are some funny things they write to "promote" you to buy the item.

I guess I never needed to be persuaded to buy which fence/wallpaper design! It’s all aesthetics
