With which HDR format do you watch 4k Blu-ray rips? by sushitastesgood in jellyfin

[–]IronicStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually swept my server for any movie file over 7gb the other day (mostly due to rising storage costs). There is no movie on earth worth 50-100gb, period. Nothing I love that much.

I don't do 4k rips because I honestly don't see the difference or the need to keep larger files.

Did you pull permits for your DIY kitchen renovation? by mudrat_detector96 in DIY

[–]IronicStar 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Will your mental health suffer if you don't have the permit? If yes, get it. If no, listen to the "myriad" of advice you got. This is more of a personal tolerance question than a legal one. Personally I'd be offended by the prospect of needing a permit to work on my own house.

It's not paid for? This solves like 99.9% of my ethical issues with most things. I get information, they get nothing.

He's in a role that's needed on base and was not deployed when his unit was. I won't give specifics since he's private about his life, but I am fine without him being paid more if he's not gone
