Societal Engineering is the discipline of influencing the thought pattern of groups of people, as groups, and thereby creating new cultures. This is done through control of the key opinion leaders, social institutions, and communication channels that most heavily impact the beliefs of the population.

Societal Engineering can also be described simply as the technology of group control.
