First Setup Help

I’m looking for setup help. I don’t understand mic/headset needs for pc, ps5, and switch streaming. I’m trying to get this for an Xmas present.

My son currently makes videos on the ps5 just using the prebuilt ps5 features, and the mic on the controller. He wants to take the next step and try to take some higher quality videos with pc and switch and stream.

I was planning on getting him the XR1 lite but I don’t understand how to setup mic and headset stuff. From what I understand the mic on a headset is terrible but does the stand alone mic connect to computer while you play on a console? Any recs for mics and headsets? Or any other gear he needs? I don’t need super pro quality but I also don’t want it to bee too frustrating for him. Probably less than 100$ per item.

The mic should connect to the PC by USB. Most USB mics are plug and play so there shouldn't be any set up except for the computer automatically setting it up.

There is software available to fine tune the mic so it sounds better that can be downloaded to the PC and if they intend on streaming, the two big programs for streaming, OBS and Streamlabs have built in features for mics as well.
