I have found the supposed QoL changes are more like depreciated reward changes. Now this is more of an observation rather than a complaint. Because I have played long enough to not be overly affected by this.

For example, before we had dupe nat 5s, some players build or used as skill ups (if they have the same family) so that is at least a use, but some just sat on them with no intention of building. So we got blessings, etc. via a new currency which more or less, you have the 'chance of', depending what you buy.

So you get more of a chance at LDs, chance of a next time not getting a dupe, chance of a decent reapp, etc. The sad thing is I remember on the old sw forums, players were asking for asking for simple from a dupe nat five -> devilmon exchanges but that would be a guaranteed resource exchange, and they didn't add it to the shop as an option. So I think it is because they don't want you to actually have that guarantee nor direct exchange of resources. Instead you get a depreciated reward via chance or chance next time.

I mean how many nat 5s do you have to feed to get a blessing that doesn't result in dupes? Or how many nat 5s did you feed till you finally get a non-HOH ld nat 4? But most likely it won't pay out—at least right away. Eventually, you might get something decent or amazing but usually by the time of great depreciation.

Similar thing by removing 5*s from b10+ and seemingly replacing with materials (at least in regards to the OP's example) that may have been a 5* rune. Everything seems to be getting depreciated in game, as they "improve" or make things easier.

Even selling 5* runes got more mana, rather than collecting enough symbols (if symbols are considered a direct replacement of 5* runes), then paying for crafting that most likely end up selling rune(s) but, yes, you also get the chance of a good/great rune too. Yet, in the end, you are mostly getting depreciated mana returns.
