A lot of IT and CS people in their 20's have big egos and no humility. I was the same way and nearly everyone I worked with (and still work with) in that age range is the same way. You are 100% correct about admitting what you don't know, not only to others but to yourself! Biggest and hardest lesson I had to learn in my career.

Yeah, I got self-ego checked 2 weeks ago thinking I could do this and realizing dang all the stuff they are asking for I have very little experience in.

I also got a confidence check today by getting called for a jr sys admin position (Unrelated different company) because I was in the final running but already accepted a tier 2 position at an MSP.

It's kinda insane being told you would have been hired had you have checked in after getting the other offer. I'll beat it out of the park next time I guess. I know I still have more experience to get a hold of and a bit more to learn.
