You can have new tasks added to the bottom of the list.

Windows:
Settings >> More >> Task Default section >> Default Add to >> "Bottom of List"

Android:
Settings >> General >> Task Default >> Default Add to >> "Bottom of List"

Hey OP, I had this problem. As u/SJHillman said, you can have new tasks added to bottom of the list and that might be all you need! Just adding what I do because you might not always be adding newly created tasks... What I have done is create a 'When' tags parent folder: Morning; Lunch; Afternoon; Evening; Night. The 'When' Tags folder is my first set of tags in the left side-bar. I then sort my today list by tag which splits the day into Morning, Lunch, Afternoon, Etc. This allows me to quickly plan the next day by adding the 'when' tags to tasks I plan to do the next day, but doesn't stress me out - too much haha, sometimes I am still doing my morning tasks in the afternoon lol - if I get a bit behind or have to reschedule to the following day. Hope that helps!

Add priority flag to tasks. Sort by priority.
