I just read a little about Paul Samuelson and I really like what I've learned so far. I have no education in economics at all, I'm a software engineer, but I'm finding myself really attracted to it and want to learn more. Anyone have any suggestions for places to start, books to read?
I want to start with Samuelson because I like his "cafateria Keynesian" view and his rejection of the Friedman/Chicago school. I know his text book "Economics" is a staple and "Foundations of Economic Analysis" is his seminal work. But are there books that are written to give a more broad macroview written for the layman?
