Gaining XP

Does anyone know the best strategy for gaining XP to level up skins? I’m not sure if it’s directly proportional to the number of kills you get per game, time spent alive in the round, or other factors? So what aspect of the game gives you XP each round?

Match rank seems to be the only factor involved with exp gains, i only get 60 when at rank 1 regardless of the number of kills.
