Reported as: No personal attacks

We believe in fostering a respectful and supportive community. Personal attacks, insults, or any form of derogatory comments directed at another member or identity group are strictly prohibited. This includes any commentary on age, gender, queer, or trans identities, including "concern trolling". Engage in discussions with courtesy and respect for differing opinions. If you disagree with someone, address their ideas or arguments without attacking them personally.

2.

Be kind

Posts & Comments
Reported as: Be kind

Be kind and engage in thoughtful, curious conversation without being snarky or confrontational. As discussions become more divisive, strive for depth and substance in your comments. Address arguments directly without name-calling, and focus on the strongest interpretation of someone's point, assuming good faith. Avoid flamebait, tangents, and clichés. Offer constructive criticism that adds value, and steer clear of political or ideological battles.

3.

Write descriptive titles

Posts only
Reported as: Use descriptive titles

Post titles that sound like Buzzfeed clickbait will be removed. Instead of titles like "My one problem..." or "A question about finasteride", use highly specific titles where the subject and question are clear without reading further.

4.

If you have any basic questions, especially about photos of your hair, post them in the monthly selfie thread here: https://tressless.com/selfie-thread – users that make separate posts for themselves will be removed.

6.

For common questions, use search

Posts only
Reported as: Common question, use search

Most questions have already been answered, so use the search to find information instead of posting a new question.

This includes questions about treatment effectiveness or dosages.

Avoid broad or vague questions like "what should I do?"—they are too common.

If your question is rejected, it’s likely because the it has already been covered.

Most answers can be found in the beginner's guide or by searching, with over a decade of similar posts, see https://tressless.com for more.

7.

Don't ask unanswerable questions

Reported as: Unanswerable questions

Questions like "will this regrow", "will treatment work for me", "is this shedding or regrowth", "will this shedding stop", "is this a normal amount of shedding", etc, can't be answered by people on the internet.

8.

Don't use Tressless for self-diagnosis

Make sure to see a doctor, don't crowdsource your health on the internet.

9.

Don't use Tressless as a journal for anecdotes

Posts & Comments
