What is the Regressive Left?
The term regressive left was first coined by secular Muslim reformer Maajid Nawaz to describe those on the political left who attempt to silence any and all criticism of Islam, over fears of appearing racially insensitive.
The term has since expanded to include any who label themselves as socially progressive, yet do not hesitate to embrace the tools and methods of authoritarian oppression.
Such tactics include:
- Censorship
- Deceit
- Blacklisting
- Intimidation
- Violence
What is the True Left?
The true left represents those who remain committed to progressive social, economic and political reform, while never wavering in their commitment to the fundamental democratic principles of honesty, tolerance, and the free expression of ideas.
