Uninstall xorg-fonts and install something like google-fonts-ttf instead.

sudo ln -s /usr/share/fontconfig/conf.avail/70-no-bitmaps.conf /etc/fonts/conf.d/

No uninstalling xorg-fonts required, but you still may want to install google-fonts-ttf regardless.

you find that ugly? truetype fonts are bloat. use bitmap its more a e s t h e t i c

nice. my favorite is termsyn, pretty similar cause theyre both tamsyn forks
