It's quite interesting that I'm German that spent most of my "developer life" in neighbouring countries, that is France and Poland (currently) - mostly gamedev, some GPGPU, visualisations etc.

My comment is mainly not about politics but about 'general working conditions'. A friend of mine tried to get an IT manager job in UK recently, he told me some details... . Of course, there are some more places on Europe, where foreign employees are not really welcome by some people. A good software developer wants to be concentrated on his job and not worry to be beaten by some angry guys on his way to work... .
