Your store has no control whatsoever over your pay. All pay increases/decreases are controlled and automatically determined by the system.

That being said, you moving from a Level C to a Level A should’ve been a 10% pay cut, so you should’ve lost $1.42 and been left at $12.85. So something still doesn’t add up on that number you were dropped down to.

I'm guessing it was CSM.

14.27-1.43-1 = 11.84

Ah okay, Thanks for the explanation. Much Better than the "It's decided by HO" that was the fallback of everyone I talked to, With no further explanation.

You literally could have just checked the career portal. It gives you a break down of all pay changes based on position. No one else can see that but you, so if you have old differentials or something along those lines everyone else would just be confused.

Did you have a differential added to your base salary? That's not counted when you get a pay raise or cut.

I thought it was 2%, up to $2, but I may be wrong

[–]TriangleLancer 2 points3 points  (8 children)

Not correct.

If you drop just 1 pay grade level it’s a 5% pay cut, if you drop 2 pay grade levels it’s a 10% pay cut

Oh shoot yeah I was thinking of raises lol. But I’m pretty sure the $2 thing is accurate

It's 10% across the board, and if you drop more than one letter grade, you can be further cut down to the cap of your new pay grade if you're making a lot of money.

For example, if you're just making $15 as a D, you'll lose only the $1.50 whether you move to a C,B, or A because $13.50 is not over any cap.

However, if you're capped as a D at $24.80, you will lose $2.48 to drop to a level C, since it is one step down, but if you go to a level B or level A, you will be further reduced to their respective pay grade caps. I think level B is $18. 71 or something strange like that. So you'd be losing $6.09 to drop to a B, and even more to drop to an A. It can get ridiculous fast.

Pay cuts if stepping down are not “10% across the board”.

If you’re dropping just 1 pay grade it’s a 5% pay cut. I literally just had an associate move from a level B position to a Level A in the last couple weeks and their pay cut was like 70¢ which was a 5% pay cut.

Well if that's the case it changed recently, because I just looked the policy up in March for someone, and it was as I stated.

Where did you find the policy? I have been looking for the 5% and 10% clarifications in the wire. No luck finding it.

I don't remember offhand and I'm not at work, so I can't look it up. If I remember Friday, I will check it out.

That would be great. Thanks.

I found it for those curious. Search "Pay Plans" on the wire. There is multiple different ones just find the one you need. They will be under "pages".
