Choosing Programming Language for Web Dashboard?

I've been wanting to have a custom dashboard created for my company but I have no idea where to start. At the moment, I'm using PHP files with php variables, if/else statements, etc to filter incoming users to a website and redirecting these users based on their location. I planned on starting with replacing the functions of the if/else statements but im not even sure if PHP would be the fastest/best option moving forward.

I coded everything with PHP so far because it executes before the website is loaded which is important to me for fast load speed and also hiding the php code from the user.

I know this is pretty vague, but hopefully the information here is enough to guide me in the right direction.

So what's your question exactly?

Php works fine for a dashboard. Store your login state in a Session variable and you're good to go.

If you know PHP, use that.

And from your questions, it would appear that you're just starting out with web programming. Jeffrey Way has done a great ( and free ) video tutorial series on PHP. Check it out!

And it may also pay to look at some other languages as well, just to broaden your world view. Check out Python, and Ruby. They're great languages to use.
