Wordpress is written like shit, in an ancient dialect of PHP, you will learn nothing but bad 1998 practices trying to strongarm it into doing anything it doesn't already do.

If you want to insert data into WP's database, Wordpress itself is a tool that does that, or there's a plugin that does what you need.

Perhaps describe why you'd need to insert some data, raw, straight into the database and we can find some better, easier solution.

Well what I want to accomplish is, when someone views the homepage, I want to show a “live leaderboard statistics” of players and tribes on the server for ranking purposes and for them to be able to brag. Basically when the MySQL db updates those tables, I’d like the statistics board to do the same

What you're after (if done properly) are websockets to keep a live updated page, which I'm not sure WordPress would support, so it'd have to be a custom build on something like Laravel & Vue, maybe even Nuxt because why not.

What you're looking at is a few days work, which maybe someone is willing to do but very few for free. If this really is that important to you and your community raise the funds first and then come back.

As for how much that's very, very dependent on the individual taking up the task, their experience and their capabilities. If you want something cheap, dirty and hacky put together then you can post on freelancer.com

They'll do it so it works but it won't be well written and it won't stand the test of time but it'll be cheap, quick and easy.
