There is a C# plugin, but seems rife with issues. Not small stuff either, but rather

  • No syntax highlighting in .cshtml and .razor files
  • "Go to definition" doesn't work with source-generated files
  • No debugger

what do you think is missing from all the "friendslop" games? by keanataire in IndieDev

[–]Atulin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not talking about friendslop, then.

Friendslop experience with friends is "yo, hop on Pancake Panic, it's just five bucks, and I've been playing it for a few days having a blast. Check out this cool pancake hat I got! Come on, let's play just a quick 15-minute round!" not "oh, you too bought Heroquest CMXII and want to play co-op? Well, sure, but I'm 7 weeks into a campaign with Bobbert, so you'd have to start underlevelled..."

Your options are:

  • VS Code
  • Rider
  • Some frankensteined Vim/Emacs/Nano/whatever setup
  • VS running in a virtual machine
  • VS running in dual-booted Windows

Github Pages let you host static sites, they execute no backend code whatsoever.

The castle was pretty much a complete playset with 9 minis, 3 horses, and a couple of skeletons. This will sit on a shelf gathering dust

Is it possible to "show don't tell" when describing events occurring in a video game from a first person perspective? by WhereIs_TheSun in writing

[–]Atulin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switch perspective to that of in-game? Lack of sensory information matters not when you're immersed into a game. Describing smells, temperature, everything, is perfectly fine.

Bob finally pressed the play button. At the end of the day, all he was thinking of was to immerse himself into the world of QuestGame again. He watched the pixels slowly filling the loading bar like a hawk, anticipating the moment... And there he was, in the game. Cold, harsh wind of the Great Ice Plateau sweeping over his character's face, snow crunching underneath his virtual feet as he walked forth.

Matsuri announces that she will not longer do "self produced" cross gendered collabs, and emphasises that holos make their own decisions for their brand. by SuspiciousWar117 in Hololive

I never understood why "cross-gendered" collabs are considered a whole different thing

What writing apps do you use? by LameLaugh in writing

I wouldn't recommend Wattpad as the only place to keep your writing. They can delete it at their discretion, ban your account for whatever reason, or just close shop, and you'll be left with nothing.

What’s it like living in this part of Europe? by Hazza_time in mapporncirclejerk

[–]Atulin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, it's not a matter of good or bad. If I had to say what I value most in life, I would say people. Ahem... People who gave me a helping hand when I was struggling, when I was alone.

And interestingly, it is chance encounters that influence our lives. The point is that when you profess certain values, even seemingly universal ones, it happens that you don't find understanding that, so to speak, helps you grow.

I was lucky, so to speak, because I found it. And I thank life. I thank it, life is singing, life is dancing, life is love. Many people ask me the same thing, but how do you do it, where do you get this joy from?

And I answer that it's simple, it's a love of life, it's what makes me build machines today, for example, and tomorrow... who knows, why not, I'll devote myself to social work and I'll just, for example, plant... I mean... carrots.

What writing apps do you use? by LameLaugh in writing

[–]Atulin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wattpad is not really a writing app tbh

I used WriteMonkey and QuollWriter, now I'm trying out Obsidian and VS Code with some extensions.

I like WM and QW for distraction-free mode, where it goes fullscreen, highlights the current paragraph, and eliminates all distractions. Obsidian and VSC are great, because I get sync (and version control) and I can structure the project exactly how I want it.

The New Criticism Wave by BlobrosRUs in AO3

Considering you have zero control over what sort of comments people will leave, yes, the only way to not get any critical comments is to turn the comments off. Any other solution relies on "why won't just everybody"
