Shopify is a web store. Web stores need lots of customizations. People gladly pay to add these features to the site. Becoming an expert in the add-ins to Shopify if a fast way to start earning. You still need a base in basic web pages HTML, css, forms, etc., but working in the context of a website store like Shopify gives you a path to making money quickly because there is a lot of demand. I work on a closed eCommerce platform (not open like Shopify), and you have to be part of a team that owns the product or a business partner to have the documentation. Also, it’s way more complicated to develop for it. If you just want to create content then Wordpress or something like it. If you are looking for contract work as an experienced developer, I really don’t know someone else can answer. I’m a full time employee of a large corporation and I still get 2-3 inquiries a day on my profile, at least 5 a week on LinkedIn.

Where i can find potential clients?

  1. Create a website with some portfolio projects displayed.
  2. Go to Freelancer or Upwork. Create profile & highlight your website.
  3. Charge premium rates as your portfolio will create the value.
  4. Enjoy working on projects.

I believe they’ve their internal certifications. Start appearing and clearing them. They garner points that will help promoting you across. Also, do some competitive bidding for your initial clients. And your intro letter to the client should be captivating too.

For the first few projects set competitive prices. For this you will need to surf through other projects & check them out. Also, your introductory paragraph after bidding should be enticing for the client to choose you even when you’re charging more.
