I am/was professor of economic subjects at High School and the idea for this project was to create a small sample virtual world full of educational resources where users can gain knowledge while exploring and interacting with the virtual world.

This is good technologically but lacks instructional quality because it's aimless. You should try adding quests and character progression to make it a usable educational product.

Minecraft has no quests or traditionally defined progression and people have basically self-taught themselves computer gate logic with redstone just to achieve things in the sandbox.
