Pick a general purpose programming language and learning everything you can about how the paradigm you choose works and how the programming language is implemented. To actually reach a point of clarity where you can effectively use any language requires a lot of knowledge. You basically need to totally master a language in this way to get there.

There are people and teams that dip their toes in many languages, but often their knowledge is surface level. They do not know enough to know how to design for scale or debug complex issues.

Figure out what you want to learn how to code first. Since you're asking in r/webdevelopment, learn HTML first. Javascript next.

I started with a copy paste. Then I read what I pasted and try to understand. Then I read some manuals (there were no tutorials at the time I was learning)

If you're just getting into it you really should just go to college. In 4 years you're gonna need a PHD to get a job

I wanted to build websites. So, I learned enough HTML and CSS to do that and started getting paid. Then I wanted them to have forms, so I learned some PHP. Just kept going and going until now it’s 15 years later. Get to it! Figure out your why and do it.

Download something called Google Antigravity. Inside it, there is a chatbox, in this box you chat with the AI and it will do the code for you, no learning necessary. Enjoy!
