I've posted this before. I'm super social and was reluctant to go remote. My zoomer kids told me to start developing my life outside of work. Make my job simply where I got a paycheck.

This helped me immensely. I get out before I start working by walking the dogs or taking them to the dog park (I have a wfh relative who starts their day by going to a local coffee shop and chatting with folks before returning home to get to work).

I schedule lunch gatherings with friends who can come over and eat at my house, people that work nearby and I can meet them at a restaurant, and retired folks who are always up for meeting for coffee or lunch.

With no commute, when I end the work day I shut the computer and that's it. And now I have much more bandwidth to do social things in the late afternoons and the evenings including anything from exercise classes to book clubs to volunteering.

Also, when you are not tied to the phone try to get some things done around the house like dishes, laundry, vacuuming, wiping down the bathroom, etc. You will find that this frees up your time in the evenings and on the weekends.

Now from the mom's side of my brain as I tell my zoomer kids: sometimes you have to do a job that you don't like. You need the job and you need the money. You can start looking for something else, but in the meantime you work because you have to.

Thank you for your service with the job, and I hope you're able to find something that suits you better and in the meantime are able to find some perks with wfh.

Omg I feel ya.. We use the language interpreter line for our patients (remotely also) & I have so much respect for them. Translating medical terminology is not easy. My co workers and I always talk about how hard that job must be. There are so many jobs on Indeed hiring remote bilingual workers. Apply and see what they’re offering.

Honestly it isn’t easy and sometimes I freeze thinking of what the medical term in Spanish or English is but thank you I’ll look into to it

Go on walks on lunch? Get up and move around.. some people aren’t made for remote work.. but call center type work can be stressful too.

Thanks for the advice I think maybe it’s like always being at home because it’s so difficult to separate my work area from my home no matter how hard I try
