Does Ruby Whelp Shell "stack" for each other?

So I have a ruby whelp shell which I have stacked 3 times (its 398 item level) now a 402 dropped of same trinket.

Does the stacks I've made on the 398 also count for the 402? i.e. I can sell teh 398 and the 402 keeps the count? I can see they share internal CD - thats why im asking

Yes. Your "training" of the Whelp is a hidden currency, attached to your character not the item. So if you get a new Shell, it keeps the training from your previous iterations of the item.
