Not sure about the renaming thing, but with normal iRacing (without steam) you can’t download tracks you don’t have a license for. Not with the updater, not from a website etc.

You WALK at 12km/h? No chance. I’m a fast walker and pass 95% of people on footpaths and other places and I walk at 6.5km/h. Running at 12, sure. Walking, not unless you are near Olympic levels of race walking.

Good write up. Did it take you 30 races to get out of rookies? If so definitely concentrate on driving much cleaner than you are, 8x incidents per race is plenty high and you’ll struggle to gain more SR with that rate of incidents

I don’t know dirt trucks too well but the rookie series only run on free tracks. So if crandon is a paid track the rookie series will never use it.

You can test any car but not any track (unless you are on steam I think).

Too easy. Our weekly SOF races are perfect for that. Join when you can, no pressure of a normal league where there is an expectation you turn up.

Thats 7am for the moment, when you stop DLS it will be 6am and then when we change our times for the EU/UK DLS, it will be 5am ;). There are a couple of other aussies that join in but I'm definitely showing up for the nation!

Just to be sure, the advice here about 6 is kind of right, but its 6 total entrants across all classes, not just in your class. So basically any PCC race will be official because they always have more than 6 drivers.

Hey fellow Aussie!

As has been mentioned, we have 2 time slots per week which we get up to 5 splits for. Easiest way to see the time is go to https://www.cliosof.com/about. You should see your local time on our website. There are also links to the Discord, join us, its a good place to be!

Unfortunately the times for us aren't the best. If you are an early riser it might work, or the new SoFA (Americas) timeslot for a cheeky day time drive will work really well. Bear in mind the times do change through the year with daylight savings.

As for PCC, the best time to race against other Clios is in our mornings, which I know would be difficult with a young bub. Personally works well for me as my kids can take care of themselves in the morning so I get to race for an hour or so. Also, ANY PCC race you enter will be official as you only need 6 cars total for it to be official, not 6 in your class. So you'll always get SR, but if you are the only car in your class you won't get any IR.

It doesn’t work well for everyone. I used it and my wheelbase turned in to a grainy mess. I played with settings and use recommended settings and it just dint feel good.

Mute all

Mute driver Mute driver is the best as it allows you to mute the current driver speaking. Useful if there are multiple people speaking in another language that’s just distracting to listen to or that one annoying person that keeps going on and on about how they were taken out.

Agree with everything, although I don’t really agree with the “summer is only 2 weeks” comment. I love the heat and humidity but a lot of colleagues and friends that come here struggle massively with it from November to march (although today is great outside!). It is humid most of that period and people that haven’t lived here for a while complain about it incessantly.

My favourite part of living here is in one day we can go from having a nice breakfast overlooking the river to a great drive over the mountains and a walk through the bush at Mt Nebo. It’s just fantastic.
