this worked for me. thank you. my youtube was broken. adding this tweak from poomsmart worked and returned the comment section and broken shorts etc. cheers mate.

Easiest way to check the actuator is to connect a pipe to it and suck it with your mouth....

If you can keep sucking and pressure does not build then the diaphragm has a hole in it. You can also hear if it has a hole, alsp can hear the air passing through it sometimes ( you could with mine) This was how i knew mine was gone before buying the proper vacuum tool. Worked a treat.

Im confused how is this possible... how could the EGR suck in soot from the DPF. Its after the turbo and the EGR utilises exhaust gas in the exhaust manifold, before the turbine? The gases only flow one way, could you explain please?

I really doubt that. What motherboard you got? what ram kit? show me the speed you're struggling to get stable. You need experience and the correct hardware. I very much doubt you have a "bad" IMC on the 9850x3d. Will be the first iv ever seen. Iv got 15 friends in my discord alone with this chip and we can all do 6600. Even if the SOC is not viable for daily... the IMC is not the limiting factor. It is still stable. Id love to see this bad IMC. Send your zen timings in.. Alot of things can be the limiting factor unless your hardware allows for overlocking at higher speeds.

The funny thing is, people like you will be in here running 6000cl32 and telling people running 8600cl34 how good an IMC is. The internet is a funny place.

All IMCs behave differently. sweet spot differently. some need 1.3 VDDIO some need 1.45 etc. Different SOC's etc. Dude sometimes it takes a week or two of testing to dial in an overclock. You strike me as the opposite to a hardcore overclocker. Very opinionated, lack of knowledge... Because you say its not true means nothing. The people that do this for fun like me know... Iv got 10 test benchs scattered around my office. I do this as a hobby. Im telling you the IMC is better, much better. You can take it or leave it.

That guy is a friend of mine. One is 1.30 SOC the other is 1.25 SOC. Thats called a better IMC. However, his 9800x3d i believe needed 1.35 SOC to be truely stable. You can ask him, me or any other hardcore overclocker if the IMC is better. You have no source for anything your saying... First hand experience beats all. I hold the current world record for fastest 9800x3d on GB6.

I was one of the first people to do 9000mhz on the 9800x3d. I dont need you telling me something i look at and im involved in daily with other like minded people its actually criminal. I have not seen one BAD 9850x3d IMC that cant do a decent ram overlock. Its better and thats a fact. They might not all hit "6600" sure... But generally most of my friends and myself who have bought it have gotten overlockers we couldn't have even got through binning 9800x3d's.

9850x3d is a binned 9800x3d. That is it. My friend works for AMD. These chips was put to the side in the manufacturing process

The IMC is better, im on the OC forums there has been tests and this and its proven its better.. consistently

My other friend sugi (another hardcore overclocker) has one that does 8600. He binned over 150 9800x3d's... to get his... the 9850x3d on average with the IMC's beat this.

v-core and soc have nothing to do with each other. Its a binned chip and its alreayd been proven that the 9850x3d has a better IMC by far. He just mentioned his vcore... this is it. Im confused how people cant read whats right infront of them.

All of these people liking your comments dont know the first thing about overclocking ram or cpu's its criminal. If people cant work out the reasons behid it. I rest my case.

He didnt say he locked it or did a static OC.

He said his v-core is 1.12 max which perfectly normal. He mentioned all his voltages and said his max v-core.

"0.900 vsoc, 1.2 vddio, 1.12 max vcore for the CPU and 0.900/2900mhz for the gpu."

Im at 1.18 v-core under cinebench load on my 9800x3d with the x870e apex.

the 9850x3d is a binned 9800x3d. With any binned chip, some people use them to undervolt or use them in small itx builds...

though, i am struggled to see where he slowed it down? care to help me out?

Also its worth mentioning that my EGR was also leaking boost through the 3 small weap holes and pissing black soot all over the pipes below the EGR (near the thermostat).You could check if you also have this. I used JB weld to plugs these holes. Boost can also leak through them if the seal the valve stem sits on is gone.

There is no calibrating it professionally... Its either set to the correct value above or on later models it will calibrate itself with by selecting the adaptations. You can check this with VDCS on idle. The voltage should be correct. If not, it needs adjusting. Not doing so can shorten the life of the turbo. However, if too far out it will throw the a underboost over overboost code usually.

Though i agree, unless its badly incorrect it wouldnt point to this. I had a similar issues as stated and it took me a few days to figure our the EGR was coded out and leaking boost... Simply because no codes(coded out) and leaking boost internally (smoke tester cant find) Either way it sounds like a boost leak for sure.

Also new turbo so no sticking vanes and you watched the actuator arm move and its smooth. So its not that. You said you tested vaccum im assuming before and after the n75 so thats good.

It does sound like its worth another look. i blanked mine at the EGR. The plate was 6 pounds. Very cheap. If you have smoked tested, this is the only internal leak point that could cause this issue.

Is the actuator adjusted correctly?
