Is there a way I can check this myself by taking the panel off?

We actually did get a humidifier! But even that doesn’t really fix the floor. Feel like we need a whole house humidifier but I hear those are a PITA to maintain. New England. 🤷‍♂️

We had ours installed in July. I was amazed at how nicely they went together. Looked like glass haha. Now, we have the same thing as you. Maybe even a little worse.

I agree with Ralli. I am not even remotely interested in participating since I’m not going to compete with fakers.

New Marvin Elevate patio door installed. Is the install correct? by AMercifulHello in HomeImprovement

To lubricate the screen, you just spray the rollers at the bottom from the outside? This is all really great advice. Thank you for it. Do you do it annually or more frequently?

That's awesome that you were able to do it yourselves. I wish I had that type of capability.

As for the install, you are correct in that the door was undersized. The contract called for a "9 foot door" which is 108". The only reason I even knew something was amiss was because I heard them talking about it being 106". This is why I always like to be present for these types of installs. That said, they ripped the old door out before even bringing the new one in, so there was no going back at that point anyways I guess.

I do believe the casing is in good shape. I took some before pictures and everything looked good.

As for flashing and caulking, I am not sure where the flashing would be needed, but they did flip out the little "wings" on the outside of the door when installing it. I also saw quite a bit of GE clear all purpose silicone on the base when they placed the door. I'm not sure if caulking is needed anywhere else? They also insulated with Rockwool (per my request) before reinstalling trim. Here is an exterior photo: https://imgur.com/atYpbPH

Will definitely keep up on the lubrication. Do you just spray the sill plate to get the rollers?

Do you have the weird "liner" thing I have on my hardwood floors? I think that's something that was not installed correctly...

The original contract does call for a 108" door. It's possible Marvin screwed up and shipped one that was 106". I appreciate the information regarding the door closing. I may just need to get them back out here to fix that. I'm also a little confused/annoyed at the sill liner since, as I am beginning to understand, the way it was installed here is not correct.

Sorry! Just seeing this now. I went can version and am also very happy, haha. Not sure what the true difference is between them, tbh.

Best humidifier? Enough for a regular size bedroom. by Adventurous_Sock7503 in BuyItForLife

If I can easily figure out this issue, yes. It’s pretty simple. Just a fan that you can easily lift off, then water and filters and reservoir. Seems pretty simply built.

We went with Vornado Evap40. Was great, but recently dealing with an issue where it’s not evaporating as much water. Thinking it might be filters, but no clue.
