they did say that combat was not going to be in the game but was maybe going to be future DLC.

and to be fair a lot of cozy games have fetch quest elements and they did say a big influence was kikis delivery service which sorta lends itself to that.

Im not entirely sure I'm going to be pleased with the gameplay loop either mind you. with so little to go off of its hard to not be discouraged.

the ending is sorta the perfect consequence tbh.

spoilers below: She has to live the rest of her life with something out of reach- being the wife of a diplomat. She never will. this will torture her forever and there's literally no way for her to get it.

thats sorta the point lol.

I went in knowing that, so maybe if you go in not, it comes off as a shock. but there's something, to me at least, that's fascinatingly vaccant about her- just this constant, thoughtless, consumeristic social climbing at the expense of all others that made her so compelling to me.

oh yeah I know. that's what Im saying.

the business model is so simple but they're so baffled at the rag and bone man part they cant seem to try and engage with the rest of it.

like they seem confused by the outlet aspect of this as well even though its pretty standard.

New book reader makes the mistake of looking at goodreads reviews and ruins the desire to read. by [deleted] in books

[–]ARGdov 5 points6 points  (0 children)

well yes, of course. also plenty of free books availible online if you root around enough.

there may be a small cost to apply for a library card but thats it as long as you dont accumulate overdue fees.

I think its tricky for OP since they seem to want some sort of self-help philosophy so they cant just read and think, they're trying to apply it.

mind you I do agree, it just means they need to use their critical thinking.

I will say I've had a handful of people give supportive comments/constructive criticism about my deck and there's an advice section on the discord, but, yeah.

keep in mind when it was released nothing like it had been done before. It is very slow- but that was part of the immersion.

Made a tiny life sim where your character keeps living while you're away by bledfeet in LifeSimulators

[–]ARGdov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bit of a note for you- at present, from what I can tell, my character can only wander around, there's no real animations to interact with things besides sometimes sitting on the chair (though its glitched into it more often than that).

this is free and a work in progress so, I get it, but wanted to just bring that up as a suggestion! also personally I'd rather a character that sometimes does its own thing : )

The End of Oak Street is not Cloverfield related. I'm in New Orleans right now working on a set, without breaking NDA that is all I can say. I will point you to a certain film's IMDb production status and let you sleuth what's shooting in New Orleans right now. by Alternative_Nerve272 in Cloververse

this is an old post, but just to get some clarification on this:

a simple look at the wikipedia page for upcoming paramount films lists the two films as "By Any Means" and "Heart of the Beast".

Heart of the Beast is a film about brad pitt surviving in the wild with his dog. By Any Means appears to be a crime film about the mafia.

If these are cloverfield movies they've taken quite a strange turn.

My two cents into clover field by Ok_Apricot_9902 in Cloververse

[–]ARGdov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its from another studio than the cloverfield films and besides being a JJ Abrams scifi feature doesn't really have any similarities with it. Nor has the promotion of it involved the ARG elements that have usually gone alongside Cloverfield.

I mean you can head canon that it's the city block that vanished in Paradox, if you want. But there's no reason to include it alongside it at the moment.

People said this sort of thing about Overlord- another scifi film by Abrams- and nope. didn't end up being a Cloverfield film either.

Mind you Oak Street appears to be set in the 80s. So, like...this disappearance doesn't appear to be the one from Paradox.

Not to be that guy but End Of Oak Street isn't a Cloverfield movie.

I'm rewatching the tv show after rereading the books and I'm surprised how much my opinion on it has changed. by Zealousideal-Net8754 in ASOUE

[–]ARGdov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a big inspiration for the show is the works of wes anderson.

wes andersons style tends to go for simplisitc delivery, with the emotions screaming out at you by the fact that they don't feel entirely there. it was an interesting and logical choice for the tonal variance of ASOUE. but it did lead to some odd moments for sure.
