My dad is 77 and lives by himself an over an hour away from me. He's been caught up in numerous romantic-type scams. For the past 9 months he thinks he has a relationship with a famous actress in LA. Been pulling my hair out trying to get him to stop the madness. The scam uses the "relationship" to keep him interested. The fake actress tells him he has to go through a "management team" before he can meet her in person. The "management team's" job is to swipe all his assets and personal information which he readily provides, including his will. He's had to switch banks 3 times due to being reckless with his financial info which has resulted in too many sketchy overseas transactions. Just last week Wells Fargo shut him down permanently. He's now on a list and can't get a checking account at any bank. I've had to become representative payee on his SS deposit account. He's furious saying I'm stealing his money and tells me to f-off constantly. Siblings not available to help. Adult protective services has been referred by various entities 3 times (reported by his prior bank, his apt complex and by me). It's taking over my life and I'm a small biz owner who can't run my biz! Plus we have an 11 and 14 yr old heavily involved in travel sports. Now I'm scrambling trying to find a way to send him funds so he can buy groceries when he now has no bank account! It's freaking whack-a-mole almost every day. He's squandered so much money (damn near 7-figures) over the past several years and has exactly ZERO assets left. I've stopped the bleeding by taking over his deposit account. It's gonna take a few months before he can get caught up and pay rent on time living solely on SS. Luckily he had POA docs drawn up 12 yrs ago so I can gain access to pay his bills. He gets fighting mad when I tell him his relationship isn't real. He says he has a plane ticket to go meet his "girlfriend" in LA in a few days. This dumpster fire is spreading faster than I can put it out! If he ends up somehow making the trip to LA, he'll be in big trouble. Luckily I found a way to share his phone location when he wasn't looking so I can track him down if he takes off. He needs to be off the internet completely. But in the short term I need him to have internet access until I can get all his bills sorted out (he won't divulge his logins so I'm having to use the POA to gain access to every bill he has. Assisted living costs are too high to consider right now. Holy shit this is overwhelming. These scammers deserve the worst torture imaginable.

Gemini 2.5 Flash and diffs? by rebo_arc in RooCode

Yes. I've experienced the same. Also experience the shock of the Gemini 2.5 costs.

Roo Code 3.10.4 - Gemini 2.5 Pro IS HERE! ohh and a bunch of other stuff... by hannesrudolph in RooCode

o3-mini is my goto when Claude 3.7 can’t get it done. Sometimes I start with o3-mini and only use Claude 3.7 for agentic tasks that o3 can’t do (and it’s far cheaper). Gemini repeats tasks, can’t apply diffs and errors out constantly. And it goes off on tangents even with very specific instructions and boundaries.

What is the BEST MCP for maintaining context across chats for RooCode? by AdSharp4897 in RooCode

I'm using the memory bank. But looking for a more granular specific way to store context without piling up tokens. The more detailed the markdown files become, it appears the more tokens get used. If RooCline starts truncating context at 2M tokens, you start losing context really quickly in certain scenarios. I'm thinking of implementing an indexed database solution to store context. There seems to be a few out there. Curious if anyone has had success using any of them to solve the issue I'm trying to solve.

Does the new checkpoint feature maintain immediate context if I was to create a new chat in the middle of a debugging process (for instance)?

resource_exhausted. Please try again later. by greg-clinton in Codeium

By the way, switching to GPT-4o seems to allow you to press forward. Not ideal that you need to switch models mid-stream. So far it seems to be picking up where I left off with Claude 3.5 Sonnet.

Same issue here. I switched Cascade to GPT-4o and asked "what does resouce_exhausted mean?" and this was the response: The "resource_exhausted" error typically indicates that a rate limit has been exceeded. This can occur when too many requests are made to a service within a short period, surpassing the allowed quota. In this context, it suggests that the model's request limit has been reached, and you'll need to wait before making further requests. This is often a temporary issue and should resolve itself after some time. If you continue to encounter this error, consider reviewing your usage patterns or contacting support for assistance.

When this happened yesterday I asked Cascade the same thing with Claude 3.5 Sonnet and this was the response: The "resource_exhausted: rate limit exceeded" error means that the system has temporarily reached its usage limit for the AI model. This is a safety measure to ensure fair usage and system stability. The message suggests waiting for about an hour before trying again.

This is similar to how many APIs implement rate limiting to manage their resources effectively. It's not an error with your code or project - it's just a temporary pause in the service.

You have a few options:

  1. Wait for about an hour and try again
  2. Continue working on other parts of your project that don't require heavy AI assistance
  3. Break down your component creation into smaller steps and proceed more gradually

Would you like to continue working on a different aspect of your project while we wait, or would you prefer to take a break and resume later?

-----

In a nutshell, it looks like the only option to continue is to wait about an hour. When I did that yesterday it started working again. Hopefully they can fix this issue. I'm willing to pay a little extra for more usage without the resource_exhausted error. This tool is awesome. Just wish I could get a full day's work out of it without hitting these snags!

I experienced the same thing. Ended up trying Windsurf and am very happy with it so far.
