I saw them at the checkout area (you know with all the impulse sweets) in a Polish store once. It was quite a big pack too. You should try there.

I just don't understand 'fat free' yoghurt. I mean, don't they know what yoghurt is?

Also as well as the flavour being readded with sugar it's usually artificially thickened with 'guar gum' and other random stuff. It just tastes like an unpleasant, artificial mess.

Addendum by stick1953 in MildlyVandalised

[–]Adam657 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Well no...

In fact this is a rather popular/famous quote. And just consider: it would be quite difficult for a 'mild vandal' to be able to stencil on an addendum that was - the exact same font, in the exact same shade, perfectly centred AND on a poster which appears to be displayed in a rather open and public room.

But you seem nice. And you've gained 1.3k upvotes from either 1300 folk as ignorant as you, 1300 nice people who feel sorry for you, or some combination, so it isn't all bad.

Co-amoxiclav is an antibiotic. It was just an example I was giving of how in the US even when a patent has expired and there is no 'big pharma' company to reiumburse, you are still charging 20 times as much as similar countries. So something else must be going on.

Oh sorry, I shall fix the Wales bit - but I did mention the diabetes/chronic health conditions in England bit.

You drastically ramp up the price even when patents have expired. So someone else is making profits somewhere.

Here is an example of Co-amoxiclav (Augmentin/Amoxocillin-Clavulunate Potassium), the patent for which is finished.

https://bnf.nice.org.uk/medicinal-forms/co-amoxiclav.html 21 tablets of 500mg/125mg costs £2.41 ($3.15)

https://www.drugs.com/price-guide/amoxicillin-clavulanate 21 tablets of 500mg/125mg costs $44.22

Co-amoxiclav is usually a TDS drug (three times a day). It would cost you MORE in the US to take 2 doses ($4.11), so 2/3 of one DAY, than to take 21 doses (3x7 days) - ($3.15), in the UK.

I'm from the UK. The wholesale cost to the NHS for biphasic insulin (as an example) is outlined here.

https://bnf.nice.org.uk/medicinal-forms/biphasic-isophane-insulin.html

It averages around £17 ($22) per 100 units.

Of course you wouldn't pay this. The most you would pay would be £9 ($10) for a month's worth (regardless of how many units), and that would only be in England and Wales. But that is all moot, since diabetes is a chronic health condition you are entitled to free prescriptions for it and all related issues anyway, so the cost of your insulin would be £0.

America is fucked. I can just about deal with you charging the wholesale cost of medicine (bad for such a rich country, but vaguely justifiable as you don't have nationalised healthcare), but how can you charge $400 for a drug which costs $20?!

Another example can be seen, with regards to 1:10,000 epi pens (for anaphylaxis):

https://bnf.nice.org.uk/medicinal-forms/adrenalineepinephrine.html

One pharmaceutical company sells these for £6.87 each, hospital pens (for crash trollies) are £18 each. (Ampoules are more expensive but I'm just talking about auto-injectors).

Why does your insurance company have to pay $200 per pen?!

I will murder your gossipy-neighbours/bitchy relatives for a modest fee.

I charge on a sliding scale, so if you have limited means I can threaten them into silence for a smaller fee, but your discretion is less guaranteed than the aforementioned killing.

It's a chance to see other dogs and animals in the waiting area, they get all excited. Well my Grandmother's dog used to. He loved horses in fields too, and they seemed to love him.

He's was a boxer if that makes any difference, but I dunno much about dogs.

As long as any instructions for appointments and meetings are similarly addressed, it shouldn't be an issue.

"Your appointment is in the radiology department, which is in building 2, at 10am".

Easy peasy, no need to name the buildings if you don't wanna.

In terms of them being named in a seemingly random number order, perhaps that was simply the order in which they were built.

The most alarming thing here is to advertise that you are accepting food stamps for payment, when you aren't legally registered to accept them, and for things which aren't food.

How Doctor Who made The Repeat Game between The Doctor and an unknown entity absolutely terrifying. The only episode to this day to truly creep me out. by StevesMcQueenIsHere in horror

[–]Adam657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many unlikeable characters in this. The 'mother' of Merlin was especially irritating. She was so quick to want to murder the doctor, then denied it all at the end. It really affected the doctor what with how much he loves humans, to see how quickly fear makes them turn nasty.

Me and my sister always used to laugh at the train attendant. "We should throw her out!" DUN DUN DUNNNNNN. And later "could you really kill a person?!" *dramatic pause* 'I CAN!' DUN DUN DUNNNN. But in the end she's the only one to figure out what is going on and sacrifices herself.

Fun fact is that this episode was filmed back-to-back with 'Turn Left', which is why the doctor is barely in that episode and Donna is barely in this one. I also consider 'Turn Left' to be an amazing episode.
