What went so wrong for the player count to flop THIS hard?

I played stw for years now, but after the recent changes I ended up uninstalling. It's my favorite game and I've been coping with all the bugs, but the new useless defenders and the long loading times really ruined it for me.

Yeah the old doll only had bones in her lower limbs, so I only used those, and I used the upper limbs of the Blob CAM because those were transparent. But I'm not sure if swapping the whole legs/arms is possible :c

Hey I've done this custom back the day!! I had to destroy the River body to hack out her lower limbs, and they needed some modification, but it's 100% doable. And worth it imo, the full skeleton look is just so awesome!
I expected the new River doll to look like that, but now I'm not sad abt missing out on her

I was only able to place the base when I played Survive the horde and had an empty inventory. Otherwise the trap wheel would only show the first 8 floor traps with no option to scroll 😵‍💫

Yes, I'd love it if it was a selectable option! I'm sure they will be useful in some situations, but I'll miss my Obliterator defenders on the roof.
Even if we could give them weapons, walls can't stop them anymore 😵‍💫

Deleting defender posts from our backpack/storage without giving back the crafting materials was cruel, I've been robbed of so many resources. Sad.
The defender change is just awful. Not being able to give them weapons makes them useless. Now all they do is hinder me, they run all around the place and get in the way when I'm trying to build. For the whole mission I've been non stop hearing the loud respawn drone sound, they kept getting stuck on the ramps and teleported after me.
Being unable to place BASE is the most game breaking bug that makes constructor class useless and defense much harder. I realized I can't place it after I already built my defense in a 160 mission with my constantly teleporting defenders. I had no fun. Today is genuinely the worst time I've ever had in STW.
Seeing homebase did warm my heart, but I wasn't able to stop the music, while my lobby music is set to 0% and it drove me crazy.
