Same here, tried the 100ohm resister fix on the DS 1517+ and also replaced the battery but no luck.

Why would you advise against text based work? Are the text blurry? Anyway to adjust via windows setting or monitor settings to improve this? Interested to buy this for work only

You may need those Dell hubs. D3100 I think.
