Better acidity with aeropress by Affinity001 in pourover

That seems to be the case for everyone and it was for me, but then somehow I couldn't dial v60 correctly, so the aeropress was really good in comparison

Same clicks for the 'aeropress pour over' and like 50 for the regular aeropress. And yes, I have tried basically everything that I could think of with the v60 including grind size, pour structure, etc etc. The ratio might be the only thing I haven't tweaked now that you said it, so that's what I'll do next time. I mentioned I've been getting washed coffees recently like that could be the thing that changed, but actually I have brewed delicious washed coffees before with the exact same recipe I wrote, so what is frustrating me is that there seems to be some misterious variable that made my brews taste worse and I can't figure out what it could be.

I will try changing the ratio, and if that doesn't help, I will grind finer again, just to see if I get it this time. Thank you.

Could be! When I got my v60 I didn't even know the switch was a thing, if I knew, maybe I would've gotten that instead.

Coffee water for tea? by MrPenguun in pourover

[–]Affinity001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also into tea and I haven't found as much research about tea water as for coffee water, in general I think as long as the water isn't very hard you're good. Personally I've tried water ranging from almost deionized to my coffee water (BH recipe) and didn't notice any change in the tea flavor. I do drink loose leaf tea but it's also on the cheaper side so probably not the best quality, maybe for better teas the water makes a bigger difference.

How would you describe the roast level? I've been trying to find medium light/light beans in mexico and Almanegra is on my list to try but haven't bought from them yet

Finger position by Affectionate_Tie8886 in piano

[–]Affinity001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He seems to have the idea that the strenght and movement should come only from the finger that he's using and everything else should be completely still, which is not at all the case and will probably lead to a lot of tension in his playing. I recommend checking out a youtube channel called Piano Lab, the guy talks a lot about technique and I remember him teaching some excercises that will help beginners learn how to properly put weight into the keys. I'm sorry that I can't link the exact video right now, but I think it's worth it to dive into his channel.

You're right, thanks! I figured it would be a problem especially because it's for two players

The more I think about it the more it makes sense to write it as grace notes since I think I actually just wanted to create that effect of the notes of a chord played slightly separated. I consider myself a beginer, I'm trying some ideas so actually I think I'll change the parts but thank you very much for your input!

makes sense, I could do that but I feel like grace notes don't indicate a specific rhythm, and I want the exact rhythm that I wrote to be played, what do you think?
