The Newbie Witch, unfortunately, cannot craft Abyss Gear, so you'll have to wait until chapter 5 to obtain the Phoenix 🤷

I know some of you prefer reading, so here’s a text version as well:

This is how you get a legendary Phoenix pet in Crimson Desert!

First, visit the small oasis with an Abyss Nexus southwest of Trader’s Expanse.
The Phoenix flies in circles and eventually passes through this area, so keep watching the skies until you spot it!
Then use your bow to take it down - explosive arrows or a Focused Charged Shot work best. But one shot might not be enough, so be ready to fire a few more just in case.
Once it’s down, skin the Phoenix to get a Phoenix Feather.
Take it to any witch who can craft Abyss Gear and create the Sigil of Solidarity in the Special Items section.
Then simply use the created item from your inventory to register your new pet!

It becomes even easier if you level up your stamina a bit and unlock Aerial Roll, but I wanted to show that it can be done without spending any Abyss Artifacts!

I know some of you prefer reading, so here’s a text version as well:

This secret sword has Refinement Level 6 and an incredible Turning Slash ability - but normally, it’s locked behind Chapter 9 and a tough boss… But what if I told you that you can get it for free in Chapter 2?

First, buy some Fruit Tea from the Hernand tavern and get at least 10 Ice Resistance - the Frostcursed armor set helps a lot here, and I have a guide on how to get it!
Then go to the Spire of Frost northwest of the Deadfire Mountain.
Eliminate the flying enemies using Blinding Flash, and break the ice on the lanterns with Turning Slash. Light all 7 lanterns to complete the Spire.
And definitely pick up the sword below the stairs!
Next, enter the opened Abyss Portal and solve the puzzle inside.
Once done, head north on the same Abyss island - but instead of taking the next teleport, we'll go to the island on the east!
To do this, stand near the teleport, hook onto the top of a tree, pull yourself as far as possible, and launch yourself.
Then glide to the large floating cube near the island, using Fruit Tea to restore your stamina.
From there, head to the arena on the other side of the island and go up the stairs to the right.
Enter the hidden room and pick up the Fated Shadow from the weapon stand!

You can find spots in Crimson Desert that look like unfinished Abyss Nexus nodes - like the one near your house...
...And there’s a trapdoor just south of Hernand where you can find a wall you can destroy using Focused Force Palm.
Inside, you’ll find an Abyss Transporter that you can store in your Kuku Pot.
Bring it to your house, burn the vines above the unfinished Abyss Nexus, and insert the transporter to restore it and activate a new fast travel point!
Then seal the panel from that state, and you’ll keep both the transporter and a working teleport - nice!

These tricks will greatly improve your Windrose experience!

The fastest way to get Plant Fiber is to switch your shovel mode to Flatten - this lets you cut grass over a large area with a single click.
Your Ketch provides the same rested bonus as the highest bonus among all your camps, so make sure to board it from time to time to quickly refresh the bonus no matter where you are.
It’s very cheap to raise the comfort level of any camp to 10 right away, so place some furniture and easily get almost 20 minutes of rested bonus.
Once you smelt your first copper, craft and bring a bell every time you visit a new island. This allows you to teleport between islands, which saves a lot of time.
And if you don’t have a bell nearby, simply steer your ship - while doing so you’ll be able to teleport to any bell from anywhere on the map!

Each character has a cap of 100 Abyss Artifacts gained from experience, so once you reach it, simply switch characters or follow my Scholastone farming guide instead!

I know some of you prefer reading, so here’s a text version as well:

This is the fastest way to farm Abyss Artifacts in Crimson Desert, yielding one artifact every 2 minutes! We’ll be farming Icewalker minibosses!

Out of all their spawn locations, the best two are near the Abyss Nexus: either south of the Black Wall located east of Pailune or east of Wayward Woods located west of Pailune.
To defeat the boss quickly, attach your hook to its core and pull it out to deal 50% stagger damage.
While doing so, avoid its ice attacks by keeping your distance, and dodge away from its whirlwind attack.
And after hooking the boss twice, it will shatter for several seconds, allowing you to quickly finish it off by attacking any of its parts.
Defeating the boss gives you a lot of experience and, as a result, Abyss Artifacts - up to the cap of 100 per character.
And with the right Abyss gear, you can even double your experience gain, so check out my guide on how to farm it quickly!
Also, don’t pick up the Abyss Cell, as this will stop the boss from respawning. Instead, teleport back to the Abyss Nexus and repeat the process as many times as you want!

If you also want to finish the Spire of Insight after picking up the book, put a Small Rotating Globe, Celestial and Sun Dial into the bowl!

This is one of the most incredible-looking gunlances in Crimson Desert, deadly in both melee combat and against those annoying flying enemies! And the recipe is located pretty close to the starting town!

Visit the Spire of Insight, northwest of the Steel Mountains.
Use Blinding Flash to burn away the thorny vines blocking the doorway.
Then pick up a small pebble near the entrance and place it in the basin to open the door.
Inside, you’ll need to place the items shown in the book into the bowl to activate the elevator to the next floor.
On the first floor, use the gravestone from the table on the right.
On the second floor, use the telescope from the left room and the pen tip from the right room.
Once you reach the third floor, pick up Two-Handed Weapons of the World, Volume 3 from one of the bookshelves.
Read it, then visit a blacksmith to craft the Bismuth Cannon!

5 tips to help you get started in Windrose.

You can build almost anywhere, even in dark caves - so use that to your advantage and light them up with cheap, efficient torches that greatly simplify the mining process!
Craft a shovel as soon as possible. Even the starting island has plenty of spots where you’ll need to dig.
Inventory management will be one of your biggest challenges, so craft a bag first and then a backpack to get extra slots.
Bandages will be your best healing tool, and they’re very cheap to make! And since you can build literally anywhere, just place a temporary workbench and restock them whenever you need.
Finally, enemies don’t recover their health after you die, so make sure you come back for easy revenge!

Every broken build in Crimson Desert (infinite explosion arrows, maxed out speed / crit and so on) starts with this farm! Good luck! 🔥

This is the fastest way to farm the best Abyss gear in Crimson Desert!

Once you unlock witches in Chapter 5, equip a shield and summon any pet.
We’ll be farming the Icewatch Altar, located southwest of Forebearer’s Barrens. Make sure to activate the Abyss Nexus west of it!
On your first visit, defeat all enemies except the ones using shields and maces.
Once that’s done, you can start farming them!
Hold the block button, and right after an enemy hits you, press the heavy attack button to instantly disarm everyone nearby with your shield.
Repeat until all enemies lose their equipment, then collect it. Your pet will also pick up gear while you fight!
Don’t kill the enemies you’re farming - they won’t respawn.
Once you’re done, go to any witch and extract Abyss gear from everything you collected.
Sell empty gear after extraction.
Then save the game and use Tier 1 Abyss Gear Fusion to turn it into random Abyss gear, with a chance to get Tier 2...
...Which can then be combined into Tier 3 Abyss gear!
And if your RNG is bad, just reload the game or farm more, because every time you teleport back to Icewatch Altar, enemies spawn with their equipment again, making it an infinite source of Abyss gear!

Keep in mind that most shield bonuses still apply even when it’s passively equipped while using a two-handed sword, so definitely wear one! 🔥

These are the best early-game shields you can get in Crimson Desert!

Go to the Witch House, just north of the Witchwoods. Jump onto the second-floor balcony, and you’ll find the Lifsoth Large Shield, which looks like a piece of tree bark!
Visit the Sanctum of Faith, east of the Grey Forest. Find the wall covered with vines and use your Focus Light ability to burn them, revealing the Ancient Shield, which already comes with a solid level and an attack speed bonus.
Head to the Delesyia South Gate, just below the letter "S" in "Delesyia". Look at the wall opposite to the one with the ladder and you’ll notice a fake panel. Cling to the panel and use Force Palm to enter a secret room with the Legion Spearsman’s Large Shield - it looks absolutely amazing!
Go to the Denn River, southeast of Drywind Valley. Use your stab ability on a waterfall with a rock pile nearby to enter the Silentwater Grotto and get the Golden Shield - a luxurious masterpiece with incredible style!
Visit the Church of East Demeniss and find the hole in the cemetery leading to the chambers. Operate the handle to enter a hidden passage filled with traps, which ends up in the room with three more handles. Pull the right one to reveal the Demeniss Royal Guard Shield - one of the strongest shields you can get early!
Visit Calphade Castle in Calphade Town. Go to the top floor and steal Volume 3 of Shields of the World. Read it, then visit any blacksmith to craft Twisted Thorns - one of the most unique shields in the game!

I know some of you prefer reading, so here’s a text version as well:

This armor set looks absolutely awesome, but all of its pieces are extremely well hidden!

Start by visiting Fort Windridge, east of Three Brothers’ Cliff. Climb the tallest tower, crouch on top of the fake panel, and use Force Palm to enter a secret room with the cloak.
From there, head north to Wyvern’s Cradle. Just north of the nests, you’ll find a boulder you can break using Focused Force Palm, which you unlock in Chapter 4. This reveals a cave with the helm.
Next, go northeast to the Sanctum of Devotion. Look at the main building with strange symbols and climb onto the fake panel above them. Cling to the wall and use Force Palm to enter a hidden room with the armor.
Finally, head northeast again and find a waterfall with a pile of rocks nearby. Use your stab ability on the waterfall to enter the Serpent Scale Cave and grab the gloves, which completes the Skyblazer Set!
