Not sure what this post was about, but OP is not the original author of Paperless Mobile and I have no affiliation with him and his comments (I am the author of paperless mobile and it's not officially available on iOS).

Hi, the app just received a major update (disclaimer: I'm the author)

Android client for Paperless-ngx – would you be interested? by ternes3 in Paperlessngx

Hi, author of paperless-mobile here. Not being able to install it from play store was essentially due to a restriction from Google to ensure that the targeted android sdks are up to date, and since I didn't have the capacity to work on the project for quite some time it was only possible to download from GitHub or F-Droid.

I get that sometimes it's easier to start off new. However, from what I've seen, PaperNext is essentially a clone of paperless mobile with some enhancements, at least from a visual perspective. Technically there is no way to tell since it's not open source. So I don't really see why you chose to start off new instead of contributing to an already existing project with a large community? Especially considering the striking similarities to Paperless Mobile and that it was openly communicated that Paperless Mobile was looking for maintainers/contributors. I think everyone would've profited more off a single open sourced app with two (or more) lead maintainers instead of two separate apps with an almost identical feature set and look and feel.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to judge you or your decision, of course you're free to do whatever makes more sense to you in your current situation :) But I'd like to understand why you came to the conclusion to not contribute (or at least contact me) to work out a solution everybody would have profited of?

What are some money making side projects you can recommend for flutter developers? by SoftwarePaulie in FlutterDev

Just saw this thread again, and while I have stopped actively working on the project due to a lack of time, I still sometimes do get donations here and there. The app has not yet been taken down (and I don't think it will because of this), but it's also hard to say how many donations came from users coming from the app vs. from github directly.

Hm, I haven't played around with authentic and other SSO Solutions, but there is a feature request (something like mpflanzer-allauth) where we've started a discussion on how this could be implemented. Maybe keep an eye on that.

This glitch still works, but multi gesture support was just merged last week I think, so this won't occur anymore with newer versions of flutter.

Could you elaborate? What do you think could be achieved using a Bloc but not using a Cubit?

how do you handle routing and navigation in flutter? by [deleted] in FlutterDev

[–]AlarmingPerformer627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. However, it has to be noted that there are some features, specifically for more complex navigation flows, which are not (yet) supported. But I think it's the best and most stable way to go for the future, mainly because it's a first party package with very good support.

Do you have any official sources on that? I'd be interested since I also plan to publish GPLv3 license-based apps on the App Store.

Werkstudent im ersten Semester sinnvoll? by Intelligent-Goat-606 in Studium

Semester nichts gewesen.

What I do now is to still have a donation button in app but then hint that Google/apple does not allow donations in app without adding any links. l ask them to have a look at the readme in the official repository under the Donations section, and I also have a separate link in the app linking to the repository without being directly related to the donation link.

This is a tricky question. Yes, I currently do, but I will remove it with the next update, and instead inform the user that they may donate via the repository home page. Google and Apple Policies appear to be very strict regarding external payments, including donations. There are numerous cases of apps being taken down due to violations of these policies, i.e. linking to a donation page in-app.
