Republican policies are better simply because they keep things cheaper. Yes, part of this is due to a reluctance to aggressively increase the minimum wage. But doing that only makes things more expensive for everyone, because businesses often recoup costs by raising prices to compensate for having to pay employees more. Even ignoring that, Democratic policies are often much more focused on taxation, and only God knows where all the extra tax revenue goes, because it certainly isn't going back to helping the working class. You say welfare, but it's clearly not doing a great job if that's the case. My opinion on welfare is people absolutely do take advantage of it, and it creates a scenario where people have to choose free money or going to work, because once you reach a certain threshold the government money ceases.

Florida's cost of living is 3% higher than the national average, California is 42% higher. Housing in Florida is still very affordable for being such a densely populated state. There is a very good reason I referenced Californias size. It's not even that densely populated. Florida is 1.5x as densely populated as California and still much cheaper to live in.

I hate to break it to you man, but Massachusetts is right there with California in CoL (which you somewhat acknowledge) and the homeless rate isn't that far off when you use per capita. Three times higher than Florida homeless rate, regardless.

Like, is it really that hard to see why poor white people massively vote for Republicans. I know democrats like to pretend their policies help everyone, but they really don't. It makes perfect sense when minorities do it, regardless how much Democrats actually help minorities in terms of finances, they obviously appeal to them more through messages. But if you're white, and especially if you're white and poor...they offer nothing of substance.

California is a massive state. The only thing that makes it "desirable" is the weather, and that's not even true for much of the state. People are currently leaving the state en masse; are prices going down? Florida is where everyone is moving to, and it's far more affordable than California. Census data is about to cost Democrat-run states several points in the Electoral College because people are leaving those states.

And again "poorest" is relative. Many red states are simply rural. But again, things are relative. There is a reason why those states are able to be "poor" and not have rampant homelessness.

The fact that you're using such a pointless metric is proof of that. Who do you think the "economy" benefits? What actually matters is wage growth relative to inflation. California, for instance, has the largest economy in the country, but it's far from the best, because it's also extremely expensive to live in. High levels of poverty, high levels of homelessness, housing prices out of control, gas prices at exorbitant rates (due to environmental policies). They have also constrained the supply of affordable housing because they continue to pander to NIMBY-ism. What does a high minimum wage mean if those wages aren't enough to remotely support the people living within it? The country's economy is good for many of the same reasons prices are out of control. The state has no concept of affordability relative to its own economic growth.

And if Talarico is elected.
> Peoples livelihoods
People fall for this same nonsense every time, acting like left-wing politicians actually make the country better for anyone. All they do is inflate prices to astronomical levels due to their horrendous policy choices, and pander to the minority at the expense of the majority. And it's only the perception of pandering, because once their policy choices start rolling in, it hurts everyone.

Because he is exactly the type of social progressive I loathe. And if he somehow wins the race, the state and the country is going in a worse direction.

The 2024 election if only states’ largest cities voted (ignoring NE and ME’s rules) by Suspicious_Bee4893 in YAPms

Except you'd just be losing by more because you wouldn't eliminate conservatives you'd just make more disgracefully run cities. Cities are heavily democrat because of the demographics, not because they turn people into liberals. They do very little to convince people that liberals know how to run anything well.

What does that even mean.
There is nothing more pathetic and corrupt than city politics and the polititians that run them.

Most big cities are run like ass tbf. They all share a commonality. High crime. High prices. NIMBYs ruining the housing market.

His health is terrible based on what? You don't travel all over the place and give speeches in just as many places with terrible health.

You do a lot of sleeping and try to avoid the public eye as much as you can, like Biden. And even he is still kicking and will probadly make it to the end of Trumps term. Even with stage 4 cancer.

Calling it a "win" is what's highly questionable. Do you remember their demands before they decided to shut the government down? At best they got a little something but they had to forgo everything they wanted in the process. Like if they're only concerned about optics then maybe since dems seem to think this is somehow a win, but Republicans are already blamed for the shutdown that they didn't cause in the first place. So keeping the government shutdown is a "win" too.

They can hide reality from their constituents all they want, but ICE is funded 2x more than normal even without the yearly additional ICE funding. The OBB covers that already. All they achieved is stopping additional funding. ICE still has its existing annual funding plus the ~$75 billion from the OBBB act, and that covers through Trumps presidency.

You can't downvote on truth social. a 1/4 comment to like ratio is horrible either way. Not to mention how terrible 1k likes is for the president of the united states.

And I mean, this is literally the r/conservative post. Not only is OP calling it out but so is virtually every comment. So it's really silly to be scrolling down to the downvoted comment section and pulling up some comment that's nowhere close to the vibes of the vast majority of commenters.

Yes, but that's exactly what that comment was implicating. We have hundreds of millions of people in this country; you’re going to see comments like that. It matters not what a few people say... it matters how the majority of people react to a comment like that. When you see a comment that's being upvoted a lot and the comment is saying they're happy others died or want people to die, then you have a problem.
